The Chalange
The development of Tuvogo came with several challenges that needed careful attention. One of the key issues was ensuring real-time location tracking, especially in areas with weak GPS signals. To solve this, we used advanced mapping and tracking technologies and continuously fine-tuned them for better accuracy. As the app grew and more users joined, scalability became another challenge. We addressed this by using cloud services like AWS and Kubernetes, which allowed the app to handle increased traffic without slowing down.
Payment integration also posed a challenge, as it had to be secure, easy for users, and comply with financial regulations across different countries. We integrated Stripe to meet these needs while balancing security with ease of use. Real-time communication between riders and drivers was crucial, so we used WebSockets for instant updates, ensuring that communication remained smooth even during high activity.
Another challenge was data synchronization across platforms. We had to ensure that users experienced consistent information whether they were using the mobile app or the website. Any delay or mismatch could lead to frustration. To address this, we focused on real-time data synchronization.
Security and privacy were also top priorities, particularly when handling sensitive information like personal details and payment data. We employed encryption and ensured compliance with privacy laws to protect user information. Finally, the app needed a user-friendly interface that was simple enough for those with limited tech experience but still powerful enough to handle tasks like booking rides and managing payments. By focusing on these challenges, we built a reliable, secure, and easy-to-use travel planning app for Sri Lankan travelers.
